New Fortuner Hybrid at ₹44.72L – Smarter, Stronger SUV
Toyota has officially launched the much-awaited Fortuner Hybrid (Neo Drive) variant in India, with prices starting at ₹44.72 lakh (ex-showroom).
This new version of the popular SUV offers better fuel efficiency, more advanced features, and a smoother driving experience—while still keeping its tough and rugged image.
Mild-Hybrid Tech: What’s New?
The Fortuner Neo Drive still uses the 2.8L turbo-diesel engine but now comes with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This system includes a belt-start generator and a lithium-ion battery.
It improves fuel efficiency, makes start-stop smoother, and supports regenerative braking—while keeping the SUV’s strong performance of 204 hp and 500 Nm torque.
Feature Enhancements
Toyota has equipped the Neo Drive variant with a host of new features:
- 360-degree camera for all-round visibility
- Wireless charging for smartphones
- Auto start-stop function
- Multi-terrain drive modes
- Exclusive “Neo Drive” badging
These updates are designed to make the SUV more comfortable and convenient, especially for city driving and off-road trips.
Pricing and Variants
The base Neo Drive model costs ₹44.72 lakh, and the top-end Legender Neo Drive is priced at ₹50.09 lakh. These hybrid versions sit just below the Fortuner GR-S, offering buyers a more fuel-efficient option without stepping into the luxury segment.
Availability
Bookings for the Fortuner Neo Drive are now open, and deliveries are expected to begin in mid-June 2025.
Final Thoughts
With the Fortuner Neo Drive, Toyota is aiming at buyers who want better fuel efficiency and updated features in a full-size SUV. Though it’s not a full hybrid, the mild-hybrid system adds value for both city commutes and long trips—making India’s favorite premium SUV even more appealing.
